A tough Saturday

1st XI Away vs Ward End Unity 1st XI

The first eleven travelled to Ward End Unity ,won the toss and elected to bat.

Kenilworth faltered to 84 All Out off 29.3 overs. Quinn Bungard was the biggest contributor with 35 and Adam Huxford also made 19. The home side’s stand out bowler was Attiq Chishti were for 4 for 18.

In reply Ward End chased the total 3 down inside 10 overs with a Wajid Ahmed top scoring with 33 off just 19 deliveries. Quinn Bungard took the best figures for Kenilworth with one for 9.

Kenilworth take one point and are 8th in Division 2.

2nd XI Home vs Newdigate CC 1st XI

Kenilworth hosted Newdigate at Warwick Road who won the toss and elected to field.

Kenilworth set the away side 269 for 5 to chase. Dan Horner made a fine 80 with plenty of other contributions. Matt Bain and Chris Prophet made 44 and 43 respectively with Babu making 36 and Louis Smithson an unbeaten 30. Best figures for the away side were from Carl Cooper who took 3 for 34.

Newdigate managed the total with just a ball to spare in the final over. Thomas Single made 81 and Ryan Basset 59 to contribute to the big chase. Tom Skinner took 3 for 68 as Kenilworth’s best figures. There were wickets also for Babu (2-41) and one a piece for Louis Smithson and Chris Prophet.

Kenilworth take 7 points and stay 3rd to hang on to a chance of promotion.
