Colin Staines

It is with regret and great sadness that I advise you that Colin Staines, passed away last night, aged 92 years old. He was one of the Club’s oldest members.

Colin was a player for many decades at the Club,. He was a stalwart at the Club, also serving on the General Management Committee for numerous years devoting so much time to the running of it for the benefit of its members and undertaking numerous roles.

He was a true ‘club person’, always having the Club at his heart.

He was one of the nicest and most friendly gentleman that you could wish to meet and know. He never had a bad word for anyone.

He was recognised for his services to the Club by being appointed a Life Member, the highest award the Club can make.

The Club’s sincerest condolences are sent to his wife Margaret and his daughter Rowan at this very sad and difficult time for them. Our thoughts are with them both.

The intention will be to hold a minute’s silence before tomorrow’s match (Saturday 15th. June) at the Club in honour of and thanks for Colin.

Further details will be circulated, in due course, when known.

Regards

Andy, Hon. Sec.
