1s Win Again

1st team  

 

The first eleven took the short hop over to Kenilworth Wardens, where the away side won the toss and elected to field first. 

 

The Wardens were bowled out for 194 off of 45.1 overs. Harry Butler made the bulk of the runs for the home team, contributing 77 off 84 balls, with Ajith Devi also making 34. For the K’s wickets were spread around with Connor Shingler taking 1 and Paul Lawrence, Matt Casey and DPR all managing two a piece . Joe Atkinson managed the best figures with an extremely tidy 3 wickets for 5 runs. 

 

Kenilworth chased the score at a canter with over 11 overs to spare and just 3 wickets down. For Wardens , Anoop Chami, Ajith Devi and Harry Jefferies-Readman all took a wicket each, Devi with the best figures of 1 for 19.For Kenilworth, Sam Davies and Connor Shingler both made 32, whilst Joe Atkinson made it a second consecutive league ton. Atkinson faced 114 balls for 103 runs which included 15 boundary fours, guiding the away side to a comfortable victory. 

Kenilworth take 20 points from the game. 

 

 

2nd team 

 

The second eleven faced Standard CC at Warwick road, with the away side winning the toss and putting Kenilworth in to bat. 

 

Kenilworth were bowled out with a ball remaining in the innings for 204. Danny  Boneham made 53 and Joe Tate 70, with several other contributions in the teens. For Standard, A.Khan and J Bird both took a wicket a piece and Ian Thompson claimed 3 for 39. However, the best figures came from Tariq Khan who produced an impressive 5 wicket haul, conceding 32 runs. 

 

In reply, Standard could only manage 169 all out as Kenilworth came away worthy winners. Top score for the away side was Duncan Keates with 36, followed closely by Raja who made 35.For the K’s , Tom Skinner claimed 2 for 32 and Teddy Hepworth 3 for 45, before Tousef Azhar produced the second 5fer of the day. He produced tidy figures of 5 for 26 from his 9 overs , including the winning wicket. 

 

Kenilworth win by 35 runs and take 24 points from the fixture. 

 

 

3rd XI 

 

The third eleven travelled to Wellesbourne CC and won the toss when they elected to bat first. 

 

Kenilworth could only manage 72 all out inside 20 overs, with Matt Dadswell and Ed Smith the only batsmen to reach double figures . For Wellesbourne, Mcadam took 2 for 14, Chris Mason 3 for 26 and George Ealden claimed 5 fer with 5 for just 13 runs from 6 overs. 

 

Wellesbourne chased the score 3 down  inside 16 overs. Ebby Thompson took 1 for 16 and Ed Smith 2 for 29. For Wellesbourne George Ealden was 35 not out and Bradley Maynard 27 not out as they cantered to the total.
