2nds Defend 85

1st XI

 

The first eleven travelled to Water Orton, with the home side winning the toss and electing to bat first.

 

Water Orton made 152 all out inside 38 overs. Chris Murphy top scored with 54 and both Ryan Westwood and Waqar Ali made 20 each. For Kenilworth, Cope and Imam both claimed a wicket a piece with Rhodes taking 2, accompanied by Matt Casey with 3 for 33. The best figures however came from Joe Atkinson, who took 3 for 29 off his 9 and a half overs.

 

In reply, Kenilworth could only make 70 all out. Stu Cope made 15 and Shyaan Imam 14 as wickets fell regularly. For the home side, Bashir took 1 fer and Richard Morgan 2 for 37. Harrison Glastonbury claimed 3 for 18, whilst John Lee produced the best figures of 3 for 7.

 

Kenilworth take 4 points from the game and are 9th in division 2.

 

2nd XI

 

The second eleven hosted Berkswell 3s at Warwick Road, where Kenilworth won the toss and elected to bat first.

 

Kenilworth were bowled out for 85, inside 27 overs. Neil Keshvala top scored with 22 off of 53 deliveries, accompanied by Will Biddles who made 15 off of 18. For the away side, Sebastian Ginn claimed 3 for 34 from his 8 overs, whilst the best figures came from Lucas Wragg with 4 for 2 from 7 overs.

 

In the second half, Kenilworth managed to restrict the away side to just 74 all out, taking a 11 run win from the game. For Berkswell, Lucas Wragg top scored with 29 off 60 and Raj Mupella was the only other batter to reach double figures with 13. For Kenilworth, Ben Clarke claimed a vital 4 for 29, whilst off-spinner Sam Leach claimed his second five wicket haul of the year with 6 for 22 off of 9.2 overs, including 4 wickets in an over to turn the game for Kenilworth.

 

Kenilworth take 24 points and are 8th in division 6 east.

 

3rd XI

 

Kenilworth 3s travelled to Earlswood’s 4th XI, who won the toss and elected to field first. Mark Wisdish scored 80 and Nahian Syed 17 to take the K’s to a score of 172, being bowled out with 5 balls to spare. Neil Thorne and Oliver Comley both claimed 2 fer for the home side, whilst the best figures came from Jamie Edwards who produced figures of 4 for 38 from 9 overs.

 

In reply, Earlswood chased the score 3 down, with just over 5 overs to spare. Jamie Edwards made 60 and Louie Green 46 not out, along with other smaller contributions. For Kenilworth, Dan Hone and Matt Dadswell both took a wicket a piece, with Mo Saleem claiming the best figures of 1 for 29.
