1s Miss out in close finish

1st xi

The first eleven travelled to Lyndworth CC, Kenilworth won the toss and elected to bat first.

Kenilworth made 242 from their 50 overs, 9 wickets down. Connor Shingler top scored with a steady 61, with Teddy Hepworth also making 47.There were also contributions from Mo Naeem who made 41 and Matt Casey making 28 not out off of just 13 deliveries. For the home side, Saad Khan claimed one wicket and Farhan Khan 2. Wiki Ahmed produced figures of 3 for 33 whilst the best numbers were produced by Abu Zar with 3 for 31.

 

In reply, Lyndworth chased the total 8 down with just 15 balls to spare.  Saad Khan made 60 off just 41 deliveries accompanied by Shakeel Khan who made 45. For Kenilworth, Casey and Atkinson both claimed a wicket a piece and Tom Skinner 3 for 66. Connor Shingler had the best figures of 3 for 41.

 

Kenilworth take 6 points from the game and are 10th in division 2.

 

2nd xi

 

The second eleven hosted Massey Ferguson 1s at Warwick Road, Kenilworth winning the toss and electing to bowl first.

 

Omar Hussain top scored for the away side with 86 off 106. Pradeep Mungamurugu also made a fast 61 to get Masseys to a score of 288 off of their 50 overs. For Kenilworth, Charlwood and Keshvala claimed one a piece , with Leach and Clarke also taking two each. Jaesh Naik claimed the best figures of 2 for 42.

 

Kenilworth could only manage 198 all out in return. Top score came from Danny Boneham with 29, Charlwood also made 28 and Sam Leach contributed 27 down the order. For the away side, Moka, Siriki and Avaan all took a wicket each . Abhay Thapa claimed 3 for 54 with the best figures coming from Mungamurugu with 3 for 16.

 

Kenilworth take 6 points from the game and are 8th in division 6 east.

 

3s

 

The third eleven travelled to Fladbury, with the home side winning the toss and electing to field first.

 

Mark Wisdish made 80 for the K’s , with other contributions coming from Andy Dadswell 25 and Nahian Syed making 34. Kenilworth finished 189 all out from their 40 overs. Fladbury’s best bowler was William Wade who took 5 for 41 off of his 9 overs. Josh Purfield claimed 2 for 20 whilst Harris, Scorer and Mytton all claimed a wicket a piece.

 

Fladbury chased the score 2 down with 14 overs to spare. Richie Young made 104 and Dan Barber 62 not out to guide the home side to the score. For Kenilworth, Manni Toor and Jack Marr both claimed a wicket each.

 

Kenilworth take 5 points and are 8th in Cotswold Hills division 4.
