Kenilworth Cricket Club was delighted to welcome back old friends for the 2026 Former Players’ Dinner at the end of July, with 22 past legends coming together to relive past, yet likely embellished glories.
The annual reunion coincided with the First XI’s home fixture against Ambleside 1st XI, giving those attending the chance to enjoy a full day at the club and watch Kenilworth battle to an excellent 50-run victory.
Whilst play continued, the group sat down to a three-course meal with wine, followed by plenty of memories, laughter and familiar dressing-room banter. It was a brilliant opportunity to reconnect with old team-mates, share stories from years gone by, and celebrate the friendships that remain such an important part of the club’s history.
Events like this are a reminder that Kenilworth Cricket Club is built not just on performances on the field, but on the people who have represented, supported and shaped the club over many years. It was wonderful to see so many former players back at the club and enjoying a day that combined good cricket with even better company.
