End of Season Awards 2025

Following the penultimate league games in the WCL (Warwickshire Cricket League) on 6/9/25 the club held it’s annual end of season awards presentation.

 

Beginning with the third team, captain Matt Dadswell presented Yougunn Prakashkumar with the player of the year award for his all around batting and bowling performances in the league. Finishing with a bowling average of 21. Moreso, Yougunn scored 234 runs with a high score of 50 against Lapworth. Averaging 30 across his 10 games.

Other mentions included captain Dadswell taking 15 wickets, mo Saleem taking 11 wickets to backup his 207 league runs. Also with the bat there were good seasons for mark Wisdish (317 runs @ 51) and Huw Sullivan(157 @ 26.)

 

1st XI captain Adam Huxford presented Josh Charlwood with the player of the year award for the second XI where he has scored 334 runs with a high score of 73 in a wining cause vs Knowle village. Josh also bowled 82 overs in the season in his allrounder role for the side. Other notable batting contributions came from Joe Tate (263@87) and Shyaan Imam (252 @ 31.)

Other bowling mentions for the 2nd XI included Ben Kelley, Ben Clarke and Sam Leach, all on 19 wickets for the season and averaging in the teens.

 

Joe Atkinson received the next award presented by first XI captain as his player of the year. Averaging 16 with the ball for a total of 26 wickets, including a best of 5/39 against Dunlop. Joe was also top run scorer, currently with 622 runs at an average of 44.

Other mentions for the 1st team included Connor Shingler with 20 wickets and 383 runs. Along with Steve Rhodes and Matt Casey both on 23 wickets for the year.

Adam then presented Sam Leach for his “Performance of the year”6/22 vs Berkswell as the 2nd XI defended 85 at home. Berkswell were 63/5 in pursuit as Leach took a 4 wicket maiden to swing the game in the home sides favor.

The penultimate award of the evening was the Colt Cup presented to Rory Sullivan for his commitment and hard work through the season, playing 15 games spread between 2nd, 3rd and Sunday teams. His high score came in a winning cause for the 2nd XI vs Massey Fergusson where he also took a stumping, highlighting his improved wicket keeping work over the season.

 

 

 

Finally Joe Tate was presented with the Pratt Cup, for most improved player. Joe impressed with his batting contributions in the 1st and 2nd XI, where he has 389 league runs at an average of 35. He also scored his maiden hundred on a Sunday with a top league score of 70 in a winning contribution for the 2nd XI vs Standard.
