Kenilworth Cricket Club’s Under-13 pairs team are through to the final after a superb, hard-fought victory over Bablake Cricket Club, winning by 18 runs.
In a game that fluctuated with every pair, Kenilworth showed great composure, teamwork and determination. Tight bowling, disciplined fielding and a couple of crucial extra wickets ultimately made the difference in a closely contested match.
The whole team played their part, with special mentions for Ivor Sullivan and Ollie Menon for some excellent tight bowling at the death. Kashiv Bajaj also produced a brilliant all-round performance, adding valuable late runs, taking 2-3 with the ball and holding on to a great catch.
Huge congratulations to all the lads on a fantastic achievement who will now try to emulate our CHL T20 team, and add more silverware to what is already shaping up to be a memorable season for the club. Everyone at KCC is extremely proud of you, and we wish you the very best of luck in the final — we’ll all be rooting for you!
The result is another reminder of the strength of Kenilworth Cricket Club’s thriving junior section, and a real testament to the commitment of all the coaches, volunteers and families who work so hard to help our young players develop in a fun, supportive and competitive environment.
Well done to everyone involved — a brilliant effort and a proud moment for the club.
