Death of former Club Player

Nick Dodd

The Club has just been made aware of the death of Nick Dodd – a former player at the Club who played his 1st. XI cricket in the 1970’s and early 1980’s with us before he emigrated to Canada and we feel that Members should be advised.

He died in July 2019, following a short illness, aged 61.

Many players of his generation  will fondly remember Nick. By all accounts, he was the life and laughter at the Club and an opening bowler when he played for us. No doubt, several former players and ‘older’ members will have a few happy tales to recall about him.

Below is a link to his obituary that gives more information about Nick that was published online in Canada.

The Club passes on its thoughts and condolences to Nick’s wife, Shona, their family and friends at their loss.

Andy Smith
Honorary Secretary.
