Saturday 13th. August

 

1st XI

 

Kenilworth v. King’s Heath

WCCL Division 1  – 50 overs a side – Win/Lose format

LOST BY 34 RUNS

King’s Heath 274-6 (50 overs) (20 points) beat Kenilworth 240-10 (49.5 overs) (6 points) by 34 runs.

 

The return of win/lose format cricket returned for the remainder of the season and the Town side were bowled out for 240 on the penultimate ball of the match still some 34 runs behind King’s ‘s total of 274-6. McKeever made 54 for King’s Heath, Saeed 43, Farooq 46, Hosein 42 and Sarmar an unbeaten 32. The Town wicket takers were Steve Rhodes with 2-39, Connor Shingler 2-48 and Stuart Cope 2-39.  In reply, Adie Sellar hit a solid 79 (8 x 4), Adam Huxford 62 (8 x 4, 1 x 6). Steve Rhodes 23  (2 x 4, 2 x 6) and Shingler 16 (4 x 4) but their efforts were in vain as no other batsmen reached double figures and the side fell away as Farooq took 3-40 and Owais 3-45 for King’s Heath.

 

2nd XI

 

Kenilworth v. Bedworth

WCCL Division 7 East  – 50 overs a side – Win/Lose format

LOST BY 63 RUNS

Bedworth 222-5 (45 overs) (20 points) beat Kenilworth 159-10 (32.5 overs) (4 points) by 63 runs

 

Bedworth proved far too strong for the Town 2’s as they posted 222-5 from their 45 overs thanks to Khan hitting 65, Pathahoaleowalan 45 and Jegen 35 despite the Town’s bowler of the day, Sam Leach taking 3-45 whilst Pete Alty, Josh Charlwood, Ben Clarke and Dave Edmunds chipped in with a wicket a piece. In reply, only 4 Town batsmen reached double figures with Yash Joshi top scoring with 45 whilst Edmunds, Tarun Ahuja and Leach all made 19 each. Bedworth’s Benson took 3-31  as the Town side were bowled out for 159 in the 33rd. over.

 

 

3rd. XI

 

Kenilworth v. Leek Wootton

CHL Division 4 North  – 40 overs a side – Win/Lose format

LOST BY 6 WICKETS

Kenilworth 109-10 (24.4 overs) (3 points) lost to Leek Wootton 111-4 (24 overs) (21 points) by 6 wickets.

 

The Town 3’s were bowled out for 109 inside 26 overs leaving Leek Wootton to coast to 111-4 with ease and in 24 overs chasing. Dhruv Vyas top scored for the Town side making 26.  James Adamson made 17 and old stager Andy Dadswell 16 but no other batsmen made it to double figures as Cox took 6-28 and Dart 2-26 for Leek Wootton who reached the winning post without worry. Allison posted 47. Christian Mortlock took 2-13 for Kenilworth with Tim Saunders and Will Thompson taking the other wickets to fall.
