A winless set of League matches for all sides

Another disappointing set of results for the three Kenilworth Saturday League sides as they all suffered defeats again in their win/lose format of matches. It also sees both the 1’s and 3’s relegated.
SATURDAY
1st XI
Kenilworth v. Nuneaton
WCCL Division 1 – 50 overs a side – Win/Lose format
LOST BY 95 RUNS
Nuneaton 271-9 (50 overs) (20 points) beat Kenilworth 176-10 (34.4 overs) (6 points) by 95 runs.
The Town 1sts. were beaten in their must win clash against Nuneaton and have now been relegated from Division 1 of the Warwickshire County Cricket League as a result whilst the win for Nuneaton guarantees their survival. Nuneaton’s opener of Colkin 79 and Milnes 70 put on 144 for their first wicket whilst others chipped in for the side to post 271-9 despite the best efforts of Town’s Stuart Cope who took 3-56 with two wickets a piece for Connor Shingler, Joe Atkinson and Darius Potten-Ravenshad. Replying, Town’s opener, Atkinson hit 55 from 57 balls faced with 10 boundaries whilst Henry Curran was left stranded on 54 not out from his 52 balls faced with 9 boundaries and a six as the Town side were bowled out for 176 inside 37 overs with Sayed taking a fine 4-27 from his 10 overs. Brad Gledhill then condemned the Town to relegation as he wrapped up the side’s innings taking 4-40.
2nd. XI
Kenilworth v. Wolvey
WCCL Division 7 East – 50 overs a side – Win/Lose format
LOST BY 6 WICKETS
Kenilworth 102-10 (42.4 overs) (1 point) lost to Wolvey 106-4 (17.0 overs) (20 points) by 6 wickets.
The Town 2’s struggled against the accurate Wolvey bowling attack and could only muster 102 from 42 overs faced as Hawkins took 5-19 from his 10 overs, Charlton 2-7 from his 10 overs, Roberts 2-29 from his 10 overs and Burnett 1-9 from his 5.4 overs. Only Louis Smithson with 23, Dave Gamble 22 and Sam Leach 16 reached double figures for the Town. Wolvey then raced to the winning post in 17 overs as Brook made 44 as the side reached 106-4 with ease, Olly Berry took 2-41 for the Town with Gamble and Thomas Best the other wickets to fall.
3rd. XI
Kenilworth v. Tanworth and Camp Hill
CHL Division 4 North – 40 overs a side – Win/Lose format
LOST BY 7 WICKETS
Kenilworth 107-10 (37 overs) (2 points) lost to Tanworth and Camp Hill 108-3 (26 overs) (21 points) by 7 wickets.
The Town 3’s ended their League campaign with a defeat that saw them finish bottom of the Division as they were bowled out for 107. Only Tarun Ahuja with 17, Rana 17 not out at number 10 and Anthony Kerry 13 made it into double figures as Johnson took 4-17 for Tanworth with Wright, Maitland and Gillespie taking a brace of wickets a piece. Tanworth then eased to 108-3 and the win with 14 overs remaining after Scott had hit 40 and Jones 32. Kenilworth’s wicket takers were Ethan Tate, Matt Dadswell and Ben Kelley.
