Kenilworth Cricket Club is delighted to celebrate a memorable achievement for one of our young players, Gabe Hattersley, who represented the MCC Coventry Hub U13 Boys in the National MCC Hub competition final at Lord’s.

The Coventry Hub side took on Sheffield at the ‘Home of Cricket’ on Saturday 5 September, having earned their place at Lord’s with qualifying wins against Stoke, Worcester, West Kent and Dulwich. An entertaining and competitive final, saw Gabe and his teammates produce a strong all-round performance to secure victory by 38 runs.
Gabe made a valuable contribution with the bat, scoring 28 and striking one outstanding six that very nearly found its way into the Lord’s stands. It was a fantastic moment on a very special stage, and a proud day for Gabe, his family and everyone at KCC.
The occasion rounded off an exciting developmental season for the newly formed Coventry Hub squad, who have only been playing together since April. Gabe’s experience was made even more memorable with lunch in the Long Room and a tour of the ground with his family — a day he will never forget.
Gabe’s family have extend their thanks to the MCC for providing such a wonderful opportunity, and to Kenilworth Cricket Club for the support, coaching and community that has helped Gabe continue to grow and enjoy his cricket.
Everyone at KCC sends huge congratulations to Gabe and the Coventry Hub team on a brilliant achievement.
